| How to restore deleted files |
| Restoration "step by step" using Magic Uneraser |
|
Step 1: Choose a disk and analyse it
In the top left corner of the program there is a list of the disks being on your computer
and connected to it . Choose a disk which contains deleted files. At program panels press
button "Analysis". Magic Uneraser will start analyzing the chosen disk and will display
its contents. This procedure will take some time.
You can stop analysis process, pressing button “Stop”, however we recommend to wait while
the program finishes its operation and analyse the whole disk. |
|
Step 2: Find deleted file
After analysis in the left part the program will display the list of the folders which
are on the chosen disk. Having allocated necessary folder at the left, you can look
through it’s contains in the right part. Thus, you can look through contents of your
disk the same as do it in Windows Explorer. In addition to existing files and folders
you can also see deleted ones. They will be marked with a special red dagger.
You can use an option "Search" to find necessary file. For convenience use an option
"Filter" to see only deleted files and to hide existed. Use the right panel for viewing,
allocation and restoration of necessary files and folders. If the option "Preview" is
active, having selected a file, you can look through its contents at once. |
|
Step 3: Restore necessary files
In the right part allocate files and folders which you want to restore, press button
"Restore" on panel. There will be a window of restoration files. In this window you can
choose a folder in which you want to keep restored files. |
|
| Additional options for restoration |
Deep analysis
Use an option "Deep analysis" if you can`t find necessary files while disk analysis.
The program will add a folder "Deep analysis" to the list of folders in the left part
and found files will be added to this folder, sorting them on expansion.
You can stop analysis process by pressing button "Stop".
Also by means of function "Deep analysis" you can restore files from formatted disks. |
|
Preliminary viewing
The option "Preview" allows you to look through contents of files before restoration.
The panel of preliminary viewing is in the bottom right corner of the program and has
two bookmarks: "Hex" and "Preview". The first bookmark ("Hex") displays file contents
in a hexadecimal view (as Hex-editor) and has three columns: the address, contained in
a hexadecimal view and contained in coding ASCII. The second bookmark ("Preview")
allows to look through document contents in a view habitual to you (it can be photo,
or document MS Office, or the text document etc.). |
|
Search of deleted partitions
The program allows you to restore files from deleted disks. For this purpose press the
button "Find Partitions".
In the pop up window choose a hard disk on which you want to find a deleted partition.
Specify area of search and type the required file systems. All found partitions will
be added to the list of disks at the top left corner of the main window of the program.
Now you can work with them the same way as with existing disks. |
|
Choice the file beginning
In some cases (only with FAT file system) the program can wrongly define the file
beginning (the first sector of its contents), and there are some variants. Other
programs simply take the first variant therefore, for example, instead of the
necessary photo you receive absolutely another. Magic Uneraser offers you all
variants, and you can choose the file beginning manually. To see a choice window
of the beginning file is possible in two ways. If the option "Preview" is active,
so while allocation file in the left top part of the preview panel button of a
choice of the beginning of a file appears. Also the choice window appears while
restoration of such file.
In the left part of the window variants of the first file sector are offered to you.
Choosing values in the left side, you can look through file contents in the right.
The button "Save All" allows to save file in all offered variants, thus if the file
is called, for example, "My file.txt" it will be saved as "My file1.txt", "My
file2.txt", "My file3.txt" etc.
If you choose an option "Don't show in this session" and will press "Save All" the
program will not display any more this window, and will apply this option to all
same files. |
