Magic RAID Recovery

Program Features

Supports virtually all types of RAID arrays.

Supports all common RAID levels used in today’s systems including RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 4, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 1E, RAID 5E, RAID 5EE, RAID 01, RAID 10, RAID 50, RAID 60, and JBOD.

Recovers RAID arrays after controller failure.

If a hardware RAID controller fails, Magic RAID Recovery will discover and reassemble multi-volume storage spaces that were previously managed by the controller. Once the storage space is reassembled, the tool will help recover the data.

Recovers files from degraded arrays.

The tool can help recovering data from degraded RAID arrays if one or more disks fail. Magic RAID Recovery employs computational-intensive algorithms to re-create data based on the parity information even if the remaining number of disks is not enough to fully restore the RAID (e.g. more than one disk failed in a RAID 5). If the remaining redundancy level is sufficient for the complete recovery, the tool will calculate all parity blocks and fully recover the information.

Supports all types of RAID controllers.

It does not matter which type of a RAID controller was used to originally create and manage the array. If the multi-disk storage array is damaged, just connect all the drives directly to the computer so that they appear as individual storage devices. The tool will be able to assemble these disks into a RAID and recover the data. Native on-board RAID controllers integrated into many motherboards (such as Intel) are also supported, although you will have to temporarily disable the integrated RAID functionality when recovering a failed storage array.

Supports software RAID.

If you were using Windows Storage Spaces, mdadm or a different type of a software-based multi-disk storage pool created in Windows, Linux or macOS, the tool will be able to automatically detect and reassemble the array and recover the data.

Supports healthy multi-disk arrays.

There is more to a storage pool than the number of disks. If the RAID array is healthy on the disk level, but there is damage on the volume level or the file system level, the tool will help you recover the data. This mode helps if volumes have been accidentally removed and/or re-created, the file system was changed or deleted, or a number of files were deleted.

Instant RAID detection.

Magic RAID Recovery can read service information about the configuration of a RAID stored in the end of the disk by most RAID controllers and software-managed multi-disk arrays. Based on this information, the tool can recreate the original RAID array in a blink while the tool is launching. The process is fast, fully automatic, and does not require any user interaction.

Automatic RAID discovery.

If no service information was found in the end of the disks, or if the information is corrupted beyond repair, Magic RAID Recovery will prompt for automatic RAID discovery. In this mode, the tool will attempt to reconstruct the array by trying all possible combinations of configuration parameters for a given number of drives.

Advanced manual mode.

Experts can manually specify some or all configuration parameters of the given RAID array. Users can specify the number and order of disks, as well as the type of the RAID and any other known configuration parameters. If some configuration parameters are unknown, the tool will attempt to determine these parameters automatically, even in manual mode.

Supports all common file systems.

Magic RAID Recovery supports all common file systems used in Windows, macOS, Linux and Unix-based operating systems.

  • Windows: NTFS, ReFS, FAT, exFAT.
  • macOS: APFS, HFS+.
  • Linux: Ext2/3/4, XFS, ReiserFS.
  • Unix: UFS 1/2.

Advanced context-sensitive recovery is possible for unsupported file systems based on the signature scan of the full disk surface.

Restores any types of files.

The product restores absolutely any types of files including documents, images. Music, video, databases, compressed archives, executable files and so on…

Search files based on content.

Built-in feature “Content-aware analysis” helps you find files with names rewritten several times. To put it simply you can find and restore files deleted several months ago.

File restore wizard.

Easy-to-use wizard will guide you through the whole process of restoration of files starting with selecting a drive to saving deleted files.

Save Wizard.

Recovered files can now be saved not only to hard and removable disks, but burned to CDs and DVDs, and recovered data can also be uploaded to an FTP server.

Function of preliminary viewing.

The built-in preview function allows viewing the contents of a file before it is recovered.

Working with drive images.

The program lets you create an image of a logical partition or a whole physical drive. This enables you to work with a copy of data on a carrier to minimize the risk of loosing data due to inappropriate user actions.

Built-in HEX-editor.

The software includes a HEX-editor to view file contents as well as data stored on logical partitions or physical drives. This powerful tool helps you locate files on a carrier and understand the structure of a physical drive. If you chose to view a logical drive you can display its bootable space, file table and so on.
